SSC CGL 2023 Selection Process

The SSC CGL 2023 selection process involves two computer-based exams, namely, Tier 1 and Tier 2. Candidates have to clear the stages one by one to ensure their selection.

SSC CGL 2023-24 Tier I
The first stage of SSC CGL 2023–24 is Tier I: Computer-based examination is qualifying in nature in which the marks obtained by the candidates will not be considered for the final merit. Each wrong answer will carry a negative mark of 0.5 marks.

SSC CGL 2023-24 Tier II
The SSC CGL 2023 Tier II exam will be conducted in three stages: Paper I, Paper II and Paper III. Paper I is compulsory for all, while Paper II is for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in M/O Statistics and Program Implementation and Paper III is for the candidates applying for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer. .
Each wrong answer in Paper I carries a negative mark of 1 mark and each wrong answer in Paper II and Paper III carries 0.5 marks. Marks obtained by candidates in SSC CGL 2023–24 Tier II will be considered for final merit.

Document verification
After clearing both levels of SSC CGL 2023-24 exam, selected candidates have to appear for document verification round. Applicants should carry original documents along with their photocopies as required during the document verification round.
Also, candidates seeking reservation should carry sufficient supporting documents. Candidates not carrying any required documents will be disqualified immediately. Candidates must carry the following documents while appearing for the document verification round:
- 2 recent passport size color photographs
- Original ID Proof
- Certificate of Educational Qualification
- Copy of Matriculation/Secondary Certificate
- Person with Disability Certificate (for PwDb applicants)
- Caste/Category Certificate (for reserved category candidates)
- Serving Defense Personnel Certificate (For Ex-Servicemen)
- Undertaking Certificate (For Ex-Servicemen)
