In order to provide free and compulsory education, the Government of India has implemented the RTE Act in all states. Under the Right to Education Act, children between the ages of 6 and 14 get free education. All children belonging to economically backward and disadvantaged sections of the society will get access to school through the Right to Education Act. At entry level 25% seats are reserved under RTE in all private schools. All citizens of Tamilnadu who are interested to apply under this scheme can fill RTE application Form 2023.
It is mandatory for all schools in Tamil Nadu to update the details of seats available in the school on the official website. Interested candidates can fill the application form on the official website from 5th July 2021 to 3rd August 2021. Tamil Nadu School Education Department has released a schedule for RTE Admission 2022. As per this schedule, parents can apply from 20 April 2022 to 18 May 2022. All students residing within 1 km radius of a private school can apply under this scheme. This year around 1 lakh seats are offered in around 9000 schools. All parents whose annual income is less than 2 lakhs under economically backward sections and all communities except OC for socially backward sections can apply under this scheme.

TN RTE Admission Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of Tamil Nadu
- All children of parents belonging to Economically Backward Section, Backward Section, Special Backward Section can apply under this scheme.
- Handicapped children, scavenger wards and HIV sufferers will be given priority
- Annual family income should not exceed Rs.2 lakhs
- For LKG admission, child’s date of birth should be between 31st July 2017 and 31st July 2018.
- For first class admission, the child’s date of birth should be between 31st July 2015 and 31st July 2016.
- Candidates from BC-Others, MBC, ST, SC-Others, SC-Arunthathiyar, OC, DNC (Denotified Communities) and an undisclosed social category are eligible to apply.

- A new page will appear in front of you

- After that click on Save
- You will get a message of successful registration and application number will be displayed on your screen
