SSC CPO 2023 Exam Pattern

SSC CPO 2023 exam pattern for written exam is divided into two phases i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2. Check the exam pattern details of Paper 1 and Paper 2.

SSC CPO 2023 Paper 1

• The first phase of SSC CPO 2023 is the online written test- Paper 1 which consists of four sections: Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English & Comprehension and General Awareness & Knowledge.
• Each section consists of 50 questions, i.e. Paper 1 consists of a total of 200 questions worth 1 mark.
• Each wrong answer carries 0.25 negative marks.
• Also, there is no sectional time and the time allotted for the entire exam is 2 hours.

SSC CPO 2023 Paper 2

• Candidates who clear the Physical Standard Test (PST) / Physical Endurance Test (PST) will qualify for Paper 2 which is an online written test.
• This exam consists of only one section, namely, English Comprehension & Comprehension, which consists of 200 questions, carrying one mark each.
• Each wrong answer will carry a negative mark of 0.25 marks.

General Intelligence and Reasoning

General Intelligence and Reasoning section is one of the highest scoring sections in SSC CPO 2023 Paper 1. It includes topics like analogy, similarities and differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, non-verbal series, coding-decoding, statement & conclusion. Syllogism, Direction and Distance, Consanguinity, Order and Ranking, Alphanumeric Series, Data Sufficiency, Puzzles & Sitting Arrangement, Mirror Image, Matrix, Counting Figures.

Quantitative Aptitude

Quantitative Aptitude section includes math and advanced math questions. Maths section contains questions based on Proportion and Proportion, Age Problem, Percentage, Simple Interest and Compound Interest, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Profit and Loss, Boat & Stream, etc. Partnership, Pipes & Cistern, Avg.

Meanwhile, the Advanced Maths section includes questions on geometry, mensuration, data interpretation, trigonometry, height and distance, quadrilateral, algebra, degree and radian measures, standard identities and histograms.

English Language and Comprehension

This section assesses candidates’ understanding of basic comprehension and knowledge of vocabulary and grammar. Questions in this section are based on error spotting, synonyms & antonyms, sentence completion, parajumble, single fillers, filling in the blanks, words and languages, cloze test, reading comprehension, vocabulary & grammar etc.

General knowledge and awareness

The syllabus of “General Knowledge & Awareness” section in SSC CPO Paper 1 is very wide as it includes questions based on National & International Current Affairs, Awards & Honours, Books & Authors, Government Schemes, Important Days, Obituaries, Sports, etc. Constitution of India, History, Geography, Politics, Economics etc.
