The front side of the ration card will show the holder’s photo, barcode and QR code, while the reverse side of the ration card will have information such as monthly income, number of ration shops and whether the house has an electrified connection. , LPG gas connection etc. Citizens have to pay a service charge of Rs 25 to convert their ration card into a smart card.
Priority category will be exempted from service fee. All card holders can apply for this card either directly at the Taluk Supply Office or online through the Civil Supplies Department portal. Once the card is approved by a Taluk Supply Officer or City Ration Officer, it will reach the applicant’s login page.
Installation of QR code machine in ration shops
You can also use the smart card by downloading it in PDF form. This card will also have contact numbers of TSO Officers, Taluk Supply Officers and Ration Inspectors. This smart card is a modification of the ration card which was inaugurated by the former Minister of Food and Civil Supplies. The government will also install QR code scanners with ePOS machines in ration shops. When the QR code is scanned, information about the owner will appear on the screen. Apart from this, the beneficiary can also get information on mobile phones while purchasing ration goods.
