Tamil Nadu Government has launched Tamil Nadu Marriage Assistance Scheme. Through this scheme, the government is going to provide various types of assistance to help the daughters of poor parents, orphan girls, remarried widows, widowed daughter marriages, or intermarried couples. There are 5 types of schemes launched by the government under the Tamil Nadu Marriage Assistance Scheme. These schemes encourage parents to educate their daughters up to the right age as the government has set educational standards for availing these schemes. Government also provides gold coins through these schemes. Applicant’s annual family income should not exceed Rs.72000 to avail these schemes.

Types of Tamil Nadu Marriage Assistance Scheme

Moolwalur Ramamrutam Ammayar Ninav Marriage Assistance Scheme-

Through this scheme the beneficiary is given financial assistance of Rs.25000 or Rs.50000. 25000 is given as financial assistance when the bride is in 10th standard (in case of scheduled caste the bride should have completed 5th standard). 50000 as financial assistance to the bride if the bride is a graduate from a regular college or distance education or a government recognized open university or a diploma from an institution recognized by the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Technical Education. Annual family income should not exceed Rs.72000 to avail the benefit of this scheme

Dr Dharmambal Amayer Ninaiv Widow Remarriage Assistance Scheme-

The benefit of this scheme will be given to widows who remarry. 25000 is being provided through this scheme. Out of this Rs 15000 is provided through direct benefit transfer and Rs 10000 as National Savings Certificate along with 4 gram 22 carat gold coin for making Thirumangalyam. A total benefit of Rs 50000 will be given to all the beneficiaries with degree or diploma, out of which Rs 30000 will be provided through direct benefit transfer and Rs 20,000 as National Savings Certificate along with 4 gram 22 carat gold coin. Thirumangalam There is no income limit or educational qualification to avail the benefit of this scheme.

EVR Maniammaiyar Ninaive Marriage Assistance Scheme for Daughters of Poor Widows-

Daughters of poor widows will also benefit from this scheme. The scheme provides financial assistance of Rs 25000 to beneficiaries who have completed high school qualification and Rs 50,000 to beneficiaries who have graduated or diploma. Annual family income should not exceed Rs.72000 to avail the benefit of this scheme

Annai Teresa Ninaive Marriage Assistance Scheme for Orphan Girls-

Orphan girls will benefit from this scheme at the time of marriage. Beneficiaries through this scheme will get financial assistance of Rs.25000 if they have high school qualification and Rs.50,000 if they have degree or diploma. There is no income limit to avail this scheme

Dr Muthulakshmi Reddy Ninaivu Inter Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme-

The benefit of this scheme is provided in case of inter-caste marriage. Through this scheme a cash assistance of Rs.25000 is provided out of which Rs.15000 as Direct Benefit Transfer and Rs.10000 in the form of National Savings Certificate along with 4 gram 22 carat gold coin for making Thirumangalam. Degree or diploma holders will get financial assistance of Rs.50000 out of which Rs.30000 will be given as direct benefit transfer, Rs.20000 as National Savings Certificate and 4 gram 22 carat gold coin for making Thirumangalam.

There is no income limit or minimum educational qualification to avail the benefit of this scheme. However, intermarriage is divided into two categories. In Category 1, one of the inter-caste married couple must be from Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe and the other partner can be from any other community. In Category 2, one of the spouses should be from forward caste or other community or other partner BC/MBC.

  • Only orphaned girls can benefit from this scheme
