Tamil Nadu Free Sewing Machine Scheme 2023
Tamil Nadu Government has started this Tamil Nadu Free Sewing Machine. Beneficiaries are provided through this scheme Free sewing machines So they can create self employment. This scheme is implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Nutrition Schemes. Under this scheme, cloths for distribution of free uniforms are distributed to 32 cutting centers under the control of Social Welfare Department. These garments are cut at the cutting center. After that, the fabric is given to the respective sewing societies for sewing the uniforms. Stitched uniforms are distributed to 413 AEEOs and 67 DEOs of the Education Department through these societies.
Through this scheme, the government is providing 15500 advanced sewing machines with 10% government subsidy to the members of women industrial cooperatives. Women tailoring training centers in Salem and Thiruvannamalai exclusively for tribal women are also running under this scheme. 35 tribal women are trained in these centers every year.
