New schools added to CM’s breakfast scheme
112 new schools have been added to Tamil Naidu’s breakfast scheme. This means that the project will help 6,500 children in primary schools in Palakode. The scheme will be implemented in 112 government and government aided primary schools in Palakode block. Discussions have been held several times with government officials regarding this project to implement the project in panchayats as well. The initiative was developed due to malnutrition and poor physical growth among economically disadvantaged government school children.
7,618 Coimbatore students will benefit Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme
Tamil Nadu CM Breakfast Scheme Most of the primary school students in Coimbatore will be helped. Chief Minister MK Stalin inaugurated the project on July 27. The government has sanctioned Rs 33.56 crore for the program to be implemented in selected areas by local councils.
According to the latest update related to this scheme, the beneficiaries include 1,14,095 children from 1,545 schools, most of whom are CCMC students. Coimbatore has 7,618 students from 62 schools. In Coimbatore district, 1,119 students from nine schools in Mettupalayam Municipality and 730 students from three schools in Madhukara Municipality have been selected. CCMC has tendered to cook and distribute breakfast from Monday to Friday for three years. As per recent updates, one contractor will set up a single kitchen and serve breakfast to five zones. All expenses including food preparation, transportation and student supplies will be borne by the contractor.
Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme will help 81 Tiruchi elementary schools
The scheme caters to schools in urban and rural areas at a cost of Rs 33.56 crore. More than 1500 government primary schools in the state have opted and more than one lakh students will benefit from this breakfast programme. This scheme will help a total of 81 schools in Trichy district, out of which 40 will be from urban areas and 41 from rural areas. According to the report, so far 123 employees have been selected by the department. Each school will have three employees.
Also, a professional chef on behalf of the State Institute for Rural Development will train the staff in Chennai. The cooking process will start at 6.30 am, so these timings should be followed to serve breakfast immediately and end at 9 am, as students’ time and school time will not be wasted. According to reports, the administration of urban schools selected under the program will be administered by the Tiruchi Corporation. The scheme will be rolled out in schools in September and then extended to additional districts.
