SSC JE 2023 Selection Process

Before checking the selection process, candidates must review the SSC JE 2023 Eligibility Criteria. Then eligible candidates can apply for the exam. The selection procedure is divided into three stages, in which the first two are written tests followed by document verification.

SSC JE 2023 Paper 1

Paper 1 is the first phase of the exam and consists of objective-type questions only and is conducted through CBT. SSC JE 2023 Syllabus for Paper 1 is divided into 3 sections namely General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness and General Engineering (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical).

Duration of paper 1 exam is 2 hours. The exam consists of 200 multiple choice questions, each carrying 1 mark. Applicants will appear in the following rounds if they meet the required cut-off.

SSC JE 2023 Exam Pattern: Paper 1

SSC JE 2023 Paper 2

Paper 2 is an offline test conducted using pen-paper method. The exam consists of both descriptive and topic-based questions. The questions in the exam will be related to the respective engineering discipline.

Candidates have 2 hours to complete the exam. There is no negative marking in the exam of 300 marks. Being a descriptive test, candidates are allowed to bring log table, slide rule, calculator and stream table.

Document verification

Candidates who clear papers 1 and 2 will be called for document verification round. Candidates should bring their photocopies along with required documents. DV round is conducted to check the eligibility of the candidates.

Candidates who do not meet the criteria set by SSC will be disqualified in this round. Below is the list of documents required during DV round.

  • College Leaving Certificate
