Mahafood RC Objective
The primary goal of Mahafood RC is to deliver all information related to ration card to the residents of the state while staying at home. The Maharashtra Food Department provides subsidy on food purchases to its residents through the use of ration cards.
Apart from this, all Maharashtra ration card users can buy wheat, rice, sugar, oil, pulses, kerosene etc. at incredibly low cost. In order to provide the benefit of ration card to all the families in the state, the state government has divided them into different categories.
The state government launched the Mahafood portal with the intention of making all these services available to all the residents of the state. Through this site, the state government provides all the ration card related services to all the residents.
Mahafood RC Type
Maharashtra government has divided the ration card into three categories to provide the benefit of food items to all the state residents. Following are the three types of Mahafood RC
- APL Ration Card: All citizens living above the poverty line and having an annual income of more than Rs 1 lakh come under this category. Each family member of this category is given a white ration card.
- BPL Ration Card: This card is issued to all families living in the state who earn between Rs 15,000 to Rs 1 lakh annually and are considered below poverty line. Each person in this category is given a yellow colored ration card.
- Antyodaya Ration Card: This group includes all those families who do not have any source of income and who are below the poverty line. This ration card is saffron in colour, and all persons in this category are given 35 kg of food for Rs 2.
