What is Kerala Vidyakiranam Scheme?
Social Justice Department of Kerala has launched a scholarship scheme for children of differently-abled parents. Under this scheme, every category of students will get scholarship. This scholarship will be given to 25 children from all districts of Kerala for a period of 10 months. Under the Vidyakiran scheme, the amount is sanctioned only to economically backward students. It is important to note that either parents must be disabled or any parent must be disabled to avail this scholarship.

Objective of Kerala Vidyakiranam Scheme
The main objective of the Vidyakiranam scheme is to provide scholarships to the children of differently-abled parents so that the children can continue their education without financial burden. Through this scholarship scheme, financial assistance will be provided to every section of children in every district so that maximum number of children can benefit from this scheme.
Advantages and Features of Vidyakiranam Scheme Kerala
- Scholarships will be given to children of differently-abled parents through Vidyakiranam scheme
- Scholarship will be awarded to each category of one student from all districts of Kerala
- The scholarship varies from Rs.300 to Rs.1000 depending on the category

- Applicant must be a permanent resident of Kerala
- An applicant must be a child of differently abled parents
- Applicant must belong to BPL category
- Parental disability must be 40% or more
- Copy of BPL Ration Card
- Income certificate
- Copy of medical board certificate showing percentage of disability
- Certified copy Disability Identity Card

Procedure to Apply for Kerala Vidyakiran Scheme
- Now take a printout of this application form
- After that, you need to fill this application form very carefully
- Now attest all the required documents
- After that, you have to hand over the duly filled application form to the concerned head of institution
- The head of the institution has to forward this application form to the concerned District Social Justice Officer
- After successful verification, the scholarship amount will be transferred to the beneficiary’s bank account
