IBPS PO 2023 Selection Process
The IBPS PO 2023 selection process includes the following steps:
- Preliminary Exam: 100 marks
- Main Exam: 225 Marks
- Interview: 100 Marks

IBPS PO 2023 Preliminary Exam Pattern
The IBPS PO Prelims exam pattern has three sections with objective-type questions consisting of 100 questions. The section includes English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability.

- The examination is of qualifying nature and the marks obtained in the preliminary examinations will not be added to the final selection list.
- The exam consists of 100 multiple choice questions, each worth 1 mark.
- Candidates will get 1 mark for each correct answer and 0.25 marks will be deducted for wrong answer.
- Duration of preliminary exam is 60 minutes. For each section, the candidate will get 20 minutes.

Candidates who clear the cut off of the preliminary exam will appear in the main exam. Mains exam has 4+1 sections. The format of the mains exam is slightly different from the preliminary exam as it consists of objective and descriptive questions.

- Marks obtained in main examination will have 80 percent weightage.
- The exam consists of 150 multiple choice questions and 2 descriptive questions for a total of 225 marks.
- 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- The duration of the exam is 3 hours 30 minutes.
- The objective part has four sections: English Language, Reasoning, Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis, Interpretation, General/Finance and Banking Awareness.
- Although it is an English language test, the questions in the descriptive paper are based on periodical topics (essay writing).
- Descriptive part will be tested only if the candidates clear objective part.
IBPS PO 2023 Interview
Applicants who meet the sectional and overall cutoffs in the mains exam will be called for the IBPS PO interview round. Candidate should note that there is no specific pattern for the interview.
The interviewer will inquire about the candidate’s educational qualification, background, experience (if any), achievements and banking related questions. Interview carries 20% weightage.
The typical duration of a PO interview is 15-20 minutes. Documents are verified on the same day and may take up to 8 hours. Candidates should bring all their identity documents, educational qualification certificates and other documents proving their eligibility.
Candidates who clear the final cut off will be given a provisional allotment as Probationary Officer in Public Sector Banks come under IBPS across the country.
