The IBPS Clerk 2023 selection process is divided into three parts which are:

• Preliminary Exam (100 Marks)
• Main Exam (200 Marks)
• Language Proficiency Test (LPT)

IBPS Clerk 2023 Prelims Exam Pattern

Preliminary exam is the first stage of IBPS Clerk 2023 selection process and it is qualifying in nature. The exam is conducted to shortlist serious candidates for mains exam. The difficulty level of the exam is easy to moderate. This exam has three sections- English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability.

• The main sections of the preliminary exam are English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability.
• Candidates have to complete 100 questions of total 100 marks within 1 hour.
• The format of the exam is objective type and consists of only MCQs.
• Candidates cannot revisit the segment after the segment time is over.
• Along with the overall cutoff, candidates must also meet the sectional cutoff.
• Negative Marking: 1/4 mark for wrong answer.

IBPS Clerk 2023 Main Exam Pattern

Candidates shortlisted from the preliminary will go through the main round. Final selection will be on the basis of marks in main examination. Overall, the exam has four sections: General, Financial Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability & Computer Awareness.

• Like the preliminary exam, the main exam will have only objective type questions.
• The total time allowed to complete the paper is 2 hours 40 minutes.
• The exam consists of 190 questions of total 200 marks.
• Negative Marking: 1/4 mark for each wrong answer.

Language Proficiency Test

The Language Proficiency Test (LPT) round does not follow any particular structure. It is conducted to assess the candidates’ proficiency in reading, writing and speaking in the selected State/UT language. Candidates may be asked to write text or answer questions in their chosen mother tongue.

IBPS Clerk 2023 Final Selection

IBPS Clerk Selection is based on Marks in Main Exams. As mentioned above, the preliminary examination is of a qualifying nature, but the marks obtained in the main examination are added to the final selection list. IBPS will publish the IBPS Clerk Preliminary and Mains Result cutoff scores state wise and category wise. Final merit list for clerk post will be compiled with 100 points.
