Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy 2023
Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal announced the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy through video conferencing. This policy was initiated to reduce pollution in Delhi. Under this policy, the government will provide an incentive amount ranging from ₹ 30,000 to ₹ 100,000 on the purchase of an electric vehicle. Thus people will be encouraged to buy electronic vehicles. Currently, the electric vehicle share in Delhi is only 0.2% and the Delhi government wants to increase this to 25% by 2024 through this policy. There are two types of electronic vehicles. One for charging and one for changing the battery. Delhi Electronic Vehicle Policy covers both these types of vehicles.
Delhi Driver Assistance Scheme
Under the Electric Vehicle Policy, the Delhi government will provide financial assistance to buyers of electric vehicles.
